Snooping Around the Bedroom, and Good Finds at Habitat

I've been messing around in my bedroom, moving things around,  and i decided to make a plate wall on this big empty wall space...

The wall color was here when we moved in, i kind of like the color, but i'm debating on painting it more of a gray,   or maybe a soft blue gray, or a gorgeous soft peachy pink...
well, i guess you know how all that goes...
for me deciding on a wall color is pretty much impossible..

here you can see my basket loaded with fake hydrangeas, there are actually some real dried ones mixed in... and you can see into the dining room...

what i'd really like to put on this big empty wall is this!  god, this is so pretty,  i think i got this photo from the COTE DE TEXAS blog...

I have this old green velvet sofa in the bedroom too, it has one broken leg. I put it caddy corner on the wall.... the bed is centered on the wall to the right, it would be cool if i could slipcover it... I also need an oval rug, but i can't find a pretty one...
I really want to kind of redo this room, but i'm just not sure where to go with it.... you know how when you look at something so long you can't see it anymore

Of course, everything ends up piled on this sofa, and you don't even want to know about the pile of stuff behind it...

Ok, changing the subject...
there were some good finds at Habitat for Humanity this week... check out this vintage crystal chandy for $15.00!!!  I think I'm gonna hang it in the bathroom... I wish you could see it held up to the light...  the crystals are so bright and pretty...

there were 4 of these chairs, and i don't need them at all,
so... of course i bought them...

I'm in the process of painting them white...

they have really really ugly blue seats, but that's super easy to fix...

They're not that great now, but I bet if Miss Mustard Seed got a hold of them, you wouldn't even recognize them when she was through...
I love the little frenchy dining chairs I already have, so why did i buy these...
because i can't walk away from something with so much potential!
i must think i have a shop where i can sell them...

these were there too, and it was all i could do to leave them ...
they were $15.00 each, and i was outta money...

One final thing,
look at this awesome old iron table my friend with the antique shop found... of course i stuffed it in the car and hauled  it home and tortured MrFracturedFairytale and made him drag it in the living room, only to see that it was too tall, and then drag it back out to the car...

But you know I had to try....

To him this looked like an old piece of junk run over by a car...
it actually was backed over by a car... the frame is bent
but that sure doesn't stop me!

Have you ever noticed that guys are really sweet, they have no idea what we're doing...
they pretty much just want us to be happy

does your guy ever say, "I just want you to be happy honey" ?
mine does - he's alot nicer than me...

thank goodness for testosterone, THAT's a hormone i can work with ;)

The End

  1. Cindy...that is so cute about your man! lol. I have one of those but he does complain a little when he asks me "where you going to put that thing"? I like your bedroom wall color and that sofa would be darling with a slipcover! I have recliner chair in my bedroom and it gets used as a clothes hanger all the time. By me, that is. Sometimes I am downright lazy! Anyway, terrific chandy find and I am giving my bedroom the eagle eye too trying to figure out what to do different. Have a great day!~Hugs, Patti

  4. Cindy, you are so darn cute. I love your bedroom and it looks great just the way it is. But, I know what you mean by always wanting to change something. We are never happy! LOL!
It's a good thing we don't change our men as much as we change our decorating!

Love the chandelier you found. It's so pretty.
And I can't wait to see what you do with the wire piece.

  7. great job snagging the chandelier! it's almost identical to one i have. i can't resist chairs either and i love these! they'll be awesome white. my 16 yr old brought home a chair for me this week he found curbside. even though it needs to be painted i'm gonna take my time cuz it is so shabby and will look great styled. THE IRON TABLE. beyond fab. i am fortunate that i live with 3 men. almost a necessity when you move furniture around as much as i do!

  10. Wow, I can't believe your finds at the Restore!!!! My jaw dropped when I saw that chandelier. Holy cannoli you got a steal! Those cane back chairs are stunning.
Thanks so much for stopping by and your kind comments. As for the painting over our mantel, my dad did that for us. We commissioned him to do one after we moved into this place. He has a blog and an Etsy shop. I giggled at your comment on your cow painting...only because I hear my dad say the same things! Your paintings are gorgeous. You are really gifted. I tried to follow in my dad's footsteps, but I just dabble for now :) have a great weekend. Looking forward to seeing more!

  11. P.S. I forgot to add: you should make the iron piece into a giant lined "basket". Some white linen would really show off all the lines and you could fill it up with fun stuff! Or laundry! ;)
