THERE ARE TOO MANY MESSES AROUND HERE!

Ok you guys, stop being so organized and doing blog posts that i can't keep up with reading... What the heck!  I don't know about you but My house is trashed!   How are you guys doing this blog posting right after all the relatives and kids and holidays and Christmas stuff...   I.... thank the lord... finally took down the tree, and the wreath, and the ribbon and all the Christmas stuff, and then i went upstairs to put it all back into the evil closet with all the
"STUFF I WILL SURELY NEED SOMEDAY"
and decided on a whim to clean it out just a little, so i could walk in there without things falling on my head.
It is impossible even considering quantum physics,  for that many things to fit in that small space, i found this out because i ended up throwing stuff out of the closet into the hall, and it was insane... i was knee deep in pillows, baskets, lamps, glass thingys from TJ Maxx, ribbon, wrapping paper, a softball glove, candlesticks, ummmm... halloween stuff,  bins of stuff, baskets of stuff, lamp thingys, fabric, a shell... a plastic skull... $8000.00 worth of silk flowers all tangled up, a trumpet... filing cabinets with stuff from 1994... i ended up standing in the pile in the middle of it all, going HELP!  Why did i start this...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, just for the sake of keeping up with doing a blog post with you organized freaks out there... i'm posting a photo of this kinda cute basket i found in the closet...

ok, you know i love you... i'm talking to you like i would my sister...

but now my car is trashed too and filled up with stuff for the thrift shop
i'm pretty sure i will need as soon as i drop it off...
but the closet is better
at least i got the through the first layer...

and if you notice that there is a galvanzed bucket in an urn behind the basket,  i will have to come and kill you...

the end...

  1. no organization of any kind has transpired in the house of hello lovely. and there are really no proper excuses for this travesty except for the usual suspects:

    1. HORMONES
    2. allergies
    3. FABULOUSNESS

i know you'll be disappointed to hear this news. :)

  2. I was wondering the same thing. I have been cleaning out storage areas and cupboards and know exactly what you are going through. Yay I enjoyed your honesty with your blog post today. At least I know that I'm not the only one in blogland behind with projects and pretty photos so close after Christmas. One thing always leads to another. Bet you'll move on to another pile soon after the closet is finished. ;)

  3. Hahaha you crack me up Cindy! My house is totally needing some attention. I posted today, for the first time in FOREVER, because I bet people were thinking I was dead. Notice that all of my pics are close-ups! If I pan out too far the explosion of toys and mess would scare away my followers. I have a 3 and 7 year old, and hosted all of the out of town guests. I'm freakin' pooped.

    Happy New Year!

  5. Hi Cindy,
I'd love to shop your closet! I've got one of those too, I call it my "prop" closet! LOL! The attic is looking pretty bad too.
At least you took the plunge. And,no, I did not notice that bucket behind your lovely flowers.

  6. I have the same evil closet and tackled it with my step son. He is 9 and shorter than I am...this closet is 3.4 feet tall. Enough said. It is dark...Santa brought him a strap to your head flashlight (haha) and so I had him go in the tunnel of the closet and together we rearranged it all. One big pile of trash was created, and now I am feeling a little bit better. I have to get to my clothing closet next. I was gonna do it last year and never did. All these clothes that I never wear...oh and so I am sending you a pretty lace skirt from my never wear anymore pile cuz I think you will love it.
My whole house was like a bomb hit it and I spent days resurrecting it. Xmas is like chinese food to me, I can't wait to have it...then it makes me sick as soon as it is over!!! I can't wait to get rid of all the decorations!

  7. You sure made me feel good this morning, my Christmas stuff is still up and I dread taking it down. Your closet sounds like my basement but my excuse is I save everything for our annual yardsale every August at my sisters. Drives my husband nuts:)

  9. You're so funny--I have rubbermaid containers stacked by the garage door full of Christmas stuff that needs to be put in storage..and the house still looks totally decorated for Christmas! So much more to still take down. It sure is more fun to put up than take down!

  12. OMG!!! Thank you so VERY much for being REAL! Really! I was starting to think I lived like hoarders compared to the beautiful rooms I see in blogland. We love you Cindy because you are so down to earth and funny to boot. My walk-in *ha* closet sounds like your's to a T. Every now and then I venture in to clean up, because one of these times, I'm going to go in there and come out the other side and find myself in Narnia. Patty/BC

  13. okay... the *kinda cute basket* is out. You need to pack it up and send it to me, complete with flowers of course! LOL...
As for standing in the middle of it all and yelling HELP!
    Been there done that.
But you know what? KUDOS for you for getting some of it to the car and out of the house. So, how long you think you could drive around with it before you HAVE TO GET RID OF IT?

    ...have a good one, Pat

  14. Cindy, this is why I love you so! You always manage to crack me up and make me laugh! I was sooo thinking the same thing! :) It's been absolute chaos here since the holidays...and I think it'll remain chaotic for awhile - I've yet to take the tree and decor down! lol Happy New Year to you!!!

  15. oh! my, now I don't feel so bad, except that I have three overstuffed, packed, overflowing, messed up closets. I had hubs put little pull lights in them, and he was amazed that I actually wanted to see all that was in there. I really didn't, but I may need to find something in the future. ;-)
I love your blog a lot!

  16. Sometimes you just have to pry stuff out of your fingers and ditch it. It feels pretty good. When your stuff manages you....it's not a good place. A good time to throw things away is when you are mad about something. I get a lot done then! Happy New Year!
