Thrift Store 75 cents...
This was half off at the Thrift store. It's actually a very well made heavy little basket. Won't it be pretty filled up with goodies from the Easter Bunny! You can still see the price tag sticker on the handle, $1.50.
I love the thrift store, I can't walk by one without walking in and doing the quick scan! I bet alot of you know what i mean when i say "the quick scan"! Our eyes are finely tuned instruments. We can walk in the door, stop dead in our tracks, give it all the quick once over, ( this all takes about 5 seconds) ..hone in on an item, and with the stealth of 007, grab it and head to the register before anyone else figures out that there was an amazing treasure right under their noses!

Mirror Before and After, and Don't Even Think I chose That Green Wall Color!
Ok, Let me be perfectly clear... I DID NOT choose the bathroom/laundry room paint color. It was here when we moved in, and I've just worked with it for now. The fact is, it's actually kind of so awful that it's good. The bathroom is tiny and dark, and boy oh boy does this green brighten it up and give it a kind of gardeny feel. Green is a color for growth and healing, so i try to think of it like that, for now anyway...
And Ta Da! This is the mirror in the shocking green bathroom... try not to be blinded by the greenness!
Painting a gold mirror really seems to be one of those instant gratification kind of things, they almost always look better.... and you can find old gold framed mirrors everywhere for practically nothing.

Ideas for New Painting, and a New Mirror...
Ok, here i go with a random mix of stuff again... I'm eying these lilies for a new painting. What do you think? the white with the dark background is always fun, really makes the white pop. Plus, i want my potential artist friends out there to get some ideas from these photos!
Here you can see the corner of one of my paintings with the intense dark light contrast
Ok, changing the subject...
check out this precious little platter i found at a little antiquey/thrift shop... oh how i love pink! I think it was about $6.00
I don't know where i stole this photo of this teeny weeny pink house , if i did i would give you credit, sorry... sorry.... but, if it's a pretty pink i'll grab it! I can't help myself... isn't this just darling.
very simple structure actually...
I really really want an old car or truck, painted this exact color, with cream leather interior... wouldn't that just be the best,
and then i could wear a big wide brimmed hat with flowers on it, and be that crazy old lady with the pink car...
now i'm just that crazy old lady, but no pink car...

And Finally check out this gorgeous mirror find. It was pretty in it's original form, but now painted and glazed, it's wonderful! I love it...she looks like a fairy tale mirror. I have another mirror find that i'm painting now, it came from a shop called "Everything But Grannies Panties" , i'm not kidding, that is the name.. and it totally lives up to that title! anyway, i will show you a before and after soon!

Messing With My Mantel, Pretty Silks Again, and Some Ruffles...
I love this pillow i found with the big ruffle... I'm a ho for ruffles...
There is this well known designer, Pamela Pierce, and she uses big, fluffy, long ruffles on everything... see the photos... it's wonderful
mantel switched around ... again...
if you look closely behind the candlesticks, you see that there are big piles of random things on the stairs i need to carry up... i hate stairs so bad...
Note my attention to detail... the placement of the pink candle on the candlestick....

Why do i know I'm not the only one who switches out her mantel every other day, and two to four times a day during PMS... I pulled an old painting from somewhere else and plopped it on my mantel, added a couple of cool candlesticks i found, and voila something different... I updated my silks with some pretty faux cherry blossoms,... they came from target... and i do like them a lot... they cost around $9.00, pricey for me for silks, but i've looked for good looking faux cherry blossoms for a while, and most are this fakey AWFUL bright pink... so i sucked it up and bought them...
There were two things this house didn't have when we moved in that are requirements for me... a fireplace, and hardwood floors. Our budget only allowed for this little gas fireplace, it comes all in one piece and you just push it up against the wall, and hook it up, not my dream fireplace, but we had to compromise...
next , hardwood floors? we'll see,.... my car is getting pretty old and doing some weird things, so, you know how it is....
If you want to see an adorable house, that will make you want to copy everything she does, go to The Old Painted Cottage look in the upper left hand corner, and go to Cottage of the Month... you will die and go to heaven at this house... in fact if you want to look at so many cool cottages you forget to blink, you should look through the cottage of the month archives!
It's awesome fun... Thanks Jennifer!
