New Chandy and a Little Leaf Bomb...

I accidently bought a new chandy for my dining room... oops

ok, so it wasn't exactly an accident..
I obsessively shopped for a chandelier that i could even remotely afford that had some bronze on it until i found one, and then i just impulsively bought it...

filling the void again... lord ....

Anyway... i do really like it better than my previous chandy which i purchased at a very low price from an online lighting shop...
it was all clear glass and bright silver, and it was ok...

But i really love that dark bronzy look with the crystals, and i thought this new vintage chandy was so more of what i really wanted

Here is the old chandelier... and it's pretty..

but it just wasn't quite "it" if you know what i mean...

I added my pink Annie Sloan dyed lampshades to the new chandy, ..

but haven't added all the crazy drippy ribbon yet...

I love decorating chandy's with ribbons and feathers, and flowers,  and random crazy stuff, don't you?

you might notice that the "proof" of the "Good Morning Miss Daisy" print is still taped to the wall in the background.
I finally got a large print of her for myself, and i'm so glad i did.  Damn those prints are expensive! I hate that lady, why are her prints so expensive!? oh...oops, that's me

really there are reasons for it,
i'll explain more some time about Artificial Brightening Agents (which you don't want)  and Archival canvas and real pigmented inks and stuff

but not now

every single lampshade on this thing is crooked... ok, whatever...

but isn't that dark bronzy brass so frenchy and yummy!

**************************

Ok, so my little dog "Daisy"....

What the heck !!!

She goes outside to potty

and finds leaves somehow, even though the whole yard has been raked

and the leaves magnetically adhere to her fur
you can't even pull those leaves off, they're just stuck!

ok, but here's the crazy part

as soon as she walks in the house, POOF! they explode off of her and cover all the floors and rugs in my house in these little crunchy brown leaves!

check it out

whenever she comes in the house covered with leaves like this ...
i always look at her and say DAISY!!!!

and she's always like "Whut"?

 ***************

Anyway, i'll leave you guys with a photo of some dresses that i saw at Macy's this weekend...

they were all just fairy fluff
now THAT'S what i call a prom dress!

soooo pretty...

...the end...

  1. So much to love here...I love the darker chandy and also love the bobechs you added!
As for the prom dresses, my daughter had one very similar and the palest peach color and she can't part with it!

  6. As always love your post! I would have accidentally bought a new chandelier if I found that one too--it is perfect! I love the bronzy--aged iron type look too. The first chandelier is pretty too though. And your Daisy pictures crack me up--my dogs bring in little leaves too--and it drives me nuts--but I must say they never get as covered as your Daisy! What a cutie. Love the prom dresses too :)

  7. Where to begin? I love the new chandy and it has way more vintage style than the other one. The leaf covered dog is darling. I'm sure picking up the leaves truly sucks, but it's pretty darned cute!

  8. Oh, Cindy I agree with sissie, paint those poofy dresses, but making it in your own style, not so much like the famous R/A shabby chic ones she so often promotes. Beautiful as they are, we would love to see what to come up with, with your style.
As for Daisy, what a doll face and one to love, leaves and all. daisy is like a dust mop and she makes me want to laugh with her not at her.
Your new Chandelier is a gem, I would have traded out as well, all the shades all cocked which way or another really adds to your quirky fun, and flavorful talents in designs, and I adore it.
The old one is so sweet as well, but I get it, you want old and contrast. Take the one you removed and place it in a place forgiving of not being so tarnished and old and place it like in a laundry room, yeah! That a good place for extra bling.

Love all your craziness over here, in such a beautiful way.

    See you soon love,

  10. the new chandelier is so much cooooooler! nothing like it when you get it right. oh daisy. i want her. the first image of her is so painterly, cindy. you've got to do something. waterlogue or whatev. i don't know a thing about apps, but don't ya think? also, her face looks human. her eyes are human eyes. how did you manage to find a half breed like that? love to you.

  12. Oh the chandelier is lovely, I just so wish you lived closer as I would have given you the one I took out of my mums house. I was going to use it but our house has all downlighters :(. What a shame as I know you would love it....if you ever come to NZ bring a big suitcase :)

  13. LOVE!!!!!! Oh how I wish that were hanging in my house Cindy and that you had two just like it!!! My dad used to say that every time he saw something someone had that he liked. He said if he wished they had two, it wouldn't be coveting :)))) Anyway, your new chandy is GORGEOUS! You have such great style and an eye for beauty. I know that is the artist in you!
Daisy looks like she has been having a blast outside. I am so not looking forward to the mud we will have this spring because then I have little muddy doggie prints everywhere in the house. It's a good thing they are cute isn't it?
Now that's how prom dresses should look!
    Big hugs from me....

  16. Hi Cindy darling,
Thank you so MUCH for making my day. Your beautiful visit, and comments always add to my days. You can get the magazine at barns and noble in the magazine section with most likely all the stampington magas, like somerset life, studio, Home! I sometimes see them on the end caps of the racks and on the free standing racks. Maybe you could ask the book seller to find one, it has an orange peach cover, a baby chic on the cover with blood orange boquet of roses, reddish writing Artful Blogging. Joann's fabrics sells it as well if you have one there, I think hobby lobby, and craft places that have stands. Some of our markets have them, maybe you could call around and see who's carries it. Would love to hear what you think :)

Now! As for your chandelier, as I commented before on it, I just love it's uniqueness... I can so see this being one I would have scooped up, it would look fabulous with my Gilded Kitchen mirror, with the bronze, gold, and silver showing through, a perfect colour fit for the deep rich bronze/black of your metal in the chandelier, and I can vision it lite with picking up that beautiful patina.

I have been laying the allure flooring in a darker finish due to the sale of the house down the line and did not want to bring to much whiteness into the homes esthetics making it a harder sale, and if I stay longer here, well it will still be a good cross over design from my mix of French cottage, to French Farmhouse, tweaking a European feel.

Look into the choice in person at your local Home Depot, there selection will amaze you, also don't be afraid to mix, you could opt to do light or darker rustic grains down stairs you see hundred plus year old homes with a mix of woods in a home from dark to some rooms being painted.
With doing the traffic master allure vinyl planks it low cost, easy to instal, your last installer could do this in a snap, and no need to us any under laiment flooring, or moisture barrier products it's all built into the allure. They have a snapping joint and a glue strip, I used the (limed oak) it has washes of white streaks in the grain with burlap tones and grey tones in the wood grain looks old world and a great mix with whites and darks, and picks up all the lighter woods you may have used due to the calm aged look to a darker finish, I think this is a great looking product, and area rugs compliment well. Can wash the product with waster, and does not make that clickity clack noise like woods when you walk across them, I will post them when they are all done.

Well my friend I have written a book here, I will let you go and will see your beautiful face soon :)

  18. Okay, so your Filling The Void Find IS Fabulous and the Accidentally part cracked me up... but what REALLY made me LOVE this Post, Daisy and her Leaf Recon Ensemble! Still LMAO! Mostly because it so resembles my G-Kids who manage, somehow, to cover themselves in Mesquite leaves {very tiny} that flutter down off the Old Tree out front... and adhere to them like Super Glue... until they're standing on my Persian Carpets, then they mass release... it's Magic I tell you!
