Ok, She's Painted White, ... For Now

So here she is painted white and blue inside, so far i've been through 3 different blues, they all became so dark inside the cupboard, so i had to go lighter and lighter... and then lighter...

Here is how it all fits in with the whole scheme... i had to tuck myself in an itty bitty corner to take this...

I put alot of silver in it at first, but didn't like it... so now....  i have to figure out how to make it pretty inside and still be functional, plus i need the storage for wine glasses...

I'm gonna go ask Kim at Starshine Chic, how to pull it together...
she'll totally know how to make this look good...

I haven't distressed it yet, and i'm still thinking about a light gray ... god, i'm never freakin satisfied!

blurry photo, sorry...

Ummm , since i stayed on that subject for about 32 seconds, lets move on, wouldn't want to linger...

I discovered you can buy faux cupcakes...
so for some completely insane reason i was sure i had to have some because what is more wonderful than perpetual icing and chocolate and cake...

I even want to do a painting of a hot fudge sundae one day, because just looking at stuff like that makes me happy..

I know what's going to happen, my daughter is going to come in the house, and find these and take a big bite out of one...

I have a faux pear that has permanent teeth marks in it... i'm totally serious,
It was Ellie again...
but she still likes fruit...

probably should put a warning sign on these ...

and hey, look at at this, a rose from the garden totally color coordinates with the cupcakes... !

I didn't plan that...

  1. Hi Cindy,
Love the cabinet. I know what you mean about getting the colors just right. I always end up changing colors for my home. If you don't like the blue you can always use a watered down white drybrushed over the blue. It would give you a more gray hue. But, that being said, I really like it. Looks purdy.

  3. I love the cupboard ! I think it looks wonderful ! You will find just the right stuff to put in there with your wine glasses. Maybe a tray with a touch of blue on it.

  5. Cindy I have that exact cabinet with a matching buffet in my dining room. It was from my husbands late great grandparents. I've been trying to figure out what I want to do with my pieces...I think I may be painting white as well, I love the look of yours with a little distressing it will be so cute.

  6. I agree with Sissie on the blue. I do like the ironstone dishes with it though.
Oh no, daughter may be on guard since the faux pear incident. LOL.

  7. Oh it looks pretty Cindy! So glad you have that cabinet in your kitchen. You could just stack it filled with all kinds of antique floral dishes and it would be BOOOTIFUL! I like those fake cupcakes too.

  8. I love it! And I know exactly what you mean about changing the blue. I just moved a cabinet from one room to another. The blue was perfect in room #1, but too dark in room #2. So far, I painted it 3 times. But I think there is one more time coming.

    Your turned out very pretty!

  10. I love the white!! I am having the same dilema with a piece similar to yours. It had all silver pieces in it but somehow didn't look right so I'm curious what you fill yours with. The shot from the itty bitty corner is so beautiful! Love your style!
