Look What My Friend Did With His Wall and One Of My Paintings...

My friend, - who is a guy i might add - did this cool thing on the wall, with some little mirrors from Target he already had, and one of my paintings.

I thought it was very clever and pretty, so I wanted to show it to you...

Come On In And Snoop Around One of My Upstairs Bedrooms... it's another cool wall color i would never have picked...

A Very blue bedroom!

Here are a bunch of photos of a little bedroom i have upstairs. The headboard i pulled out of the dump. The little hutch thingy was a gift from a friend. The blankets are thrift store finds.
This is a great example of a wall color i would never have chosen. It was here when we moved in. But everyone loves this color, it's like therapy going into this room, it's so calming...

I had a bunch of silk flowers, and i just set them on top of this little cabinet when i was purging or cleaning up or something, and they looked pretty, so i just left them there... sometimes that's just how it happens...

The little cushion on the bench has fabric just tucked around it, probably would have been good to smooth out the wrinkles before i took a photo... i never see details like this until later, what is that?

on the chair is a random roll of burlap ... i probably had an ADD attack and just left it there and wandered off...

The bedside tables are old wicker planters i pulled out of my favorite dump, and yes... i am an admitted dump diver, what can i say....
anyway, i went to Ace Hardware and they cut some plastic acrylic stuff they had for the tops... it was very inexpensive... just a few bucks... and, voila! bedside tables.

Here are some photos from one of my very favorite shops in Mebane, NC. "The Elegant Relic". Lacy has everything wonderful there. Robin's egg soaps, crazy cool vintage furniture she has redone, and AMAZING clothes...

Guess who painted the sheep propped up over the hutch???

I think she's pretty cute, if i do say so myself... or is it a he???

hmmm, i haven't decided, what do you think? girl or boy? I don't know why it matters, but it does, i like my animals to have a gender.., there's probably something wrong with that...

Mantel 5 Different Ways, Which Do You Prefer ?

One cool thing about being able to make paintings, is that you can have lots of choices of things to hang on walls around your house....... One not so cool thing about making paintings is that you can have lots of choices of things to hang on walls around your house!

These are orchids

i know the burlap is crooked... i think i don't care though...
of course this one i didn't paint...
I like the contrast and the size of this one... it's simple, but one of my favorites...

I have lots of paintings for sale if anyone is interested, just let me know, i have very good prices, because my grown son is back in the nest now, and people like me who are running out of money, who have grown sons moving back in, sell cheap! The hardest part would be shipping a large painting, but it could be worked out. My paintings usually sell from around $75.00 up to 900.00... You see the iris painting below, normally i'd sell it for around $400.00. But now... I'd take less. It is oil on canvas, and pretty big...
I'm in love with my blogger friends anyway, so i don't care if i sell to you guys for barely more than my cost...
the funnest paintings i ever did were the ones that were surprises and gifts ...

These photos are from my iphone, so they're not that good, my other camera is being weird. Amy at Maison Decor, the most awesomest blogger ever, says you should always take good shots of things in your home, in case someone from a magazine is looking... you should go read what she says about it. She made me think to look at my camera's settings, and realize i have no idea what i'm doing and and i definitely don't know what ISO is...
Did you know that when you see a painting in a gallery, the gallery usually charges the artist 30% - 50% of the cost of the painting! and sometimes a fee also just to be in the gallery... So a painting you'd normally sell for say $400.00, you would have to mark up to cover that cost... !

Anyway, which painting over the mantel do you prefer??? or is the burlapy thing the best?

Just an Old Door.....

I love this old door... I just tucked it in the corner in my living room... It weighs 80 gabillion tons, i don't know why, it just does... It's like it has the mass of a black hole, it is so heavy. A couple of my blogger buddies have asked me about it, so i thought i'd try to show you some better pictures, which i can't really seem to get, because it's pretty much impossible to photograph anything in my house without a weird glare, or everything turning pond scum green or putrid yellow....

anyway... here are a couple more photos of miss "Eden", she is such a show off!!!

If I Collect Tags, Am I a Hoarder?

I save pretty tags... I just can't help myself...

Look... There is actually one called "Pinky"... How could one throw away anything that said "Pinky" ?

I don't know what i actually think I'm going to do with the tags???....

Does this make me a hoarder? I don't actually have so many tags that i can't open the front door or anything, so that's good i guess....

Here's something else cool, it's another rose in my garden. It's amazing... It's called "Eden". It's gone crazy, just like it's mommy ... me....
